A Note to Parents

Thank you for considering us for your stay.

Our aim at Cape Sable Cottages is to provide the discriminating vacationner with a deluxe, seaside retreat.
The pace of life here is slow and relaxed, the people are friendly and welcoming, and the scenery is salted with beautiful vistas of the ocean.

However, we have found in our 2 seasons of operation, that some families travelling with younger children find it difficult to keep the 'kids' entertained while staying here at the 'Cottages'.

Please consider carefully the limited 'entertainment' and activities offered in a small rural village setting such as Cape Sable Island.

  • On the cottage site the possible activities include: canoeing, pedal boat, rental kayaking (must be accompanied by a parent at all times, in all boats. Boat use is dependant on weather and tide conditions); ocean swimming- not a white sand beach, a small play center (slide, climbing, towers); volley ball, badminton and football.

  • In the immediate area (within 30 minutes drive): Community pool(fee charged); museums, small shopping district, beaches.

  • In the area (more than one hours drive): Theatres- movie; shopping malls, horse/ trail rides, kayaking tours, tourist aimed sight seeing tours, Interpretive trails, Upper Clements Theme Park- amusement rides, etc.
