Note to Parents with Young Children At Cape Sable Cottages we want to make you feel at home...or even better, to feel like our special guest!
We have built our 5 seaside cottages with your every need and comfort in mind. Come in and make yourself right at home. Let me describe a little of your 'new' home. "THE KITCHEN" A large, roomy, well equipped kitchen opens into an ocean facing livingroom-with gorgeous views all day long. The kitchen is generously outfitted for your cooking & dining needs- featured are full size NEW appliances- electric range & range hood, 2 door refrigerator, built in dishwasher, all pots & pans, dishes, glassware, cutlery, and small kitchen appliances and linens.  The Eating Area  Another View "THE LIVING ROOM" In the Livingroom you'll enjoy the comfortable sofa which pulls out to a double size sofa bed, an arm chair or two, a built in window seat (in 3 cottages) and a color TV and VCR. Each cottage has wonderful reading materials- novels, local interest books, ficton, non-fiction, etc... and we are always happy to share our latest 'read' with you too. As in all the rooms- the floors are wooden, no allergy prone rugs and carpets to contend with.  The View From The Living Room of Sable Bay  The Victorian Living Room of Victoria's Garden Cottage. "THE BEDROOM(s)" The bedrooms in the cottages are roomy and each feature double patio doors- bringing in lots of natural light (sunrise/ sunset) and have new comfortable quality bedding sets & linens. There's plenty of closet room in each bedroom, and also a separate bureau for extra storeage. Beside your beds are night tables with a clock radio and reading lamps, for your comfort there's also a ceiling fan. From one of your bedrooms you can walk out onto the wrap around patio deck- rise from your bed, take your coffee and paper and spend the morning hours on your deck enjoying the gorgeous views of the water and the fresh sea breeze. Of course there is a bountiful supply of fresh, plush towels and soaps, shampoo and lotion.  The Nautical "Head" at Schooner Lodge  The Country Bath at Cranberry Cottage "THE PATIO DECKS" We must point out the cottage decks- these wrap around atleast 2 sides of your cottage and are wide and spacious, allowing for lots of room to bask in the seaside sun, soak up some rays, or sit and star gaze at night. Provided for your stay is a full size (filled) propane BBQ - great for BBQing fresh seafood, etc. You'll also enjoy the cedar lounge chair and the other patio furniture where you can recline and soak in the sun and fresh "salt" air. Beside the decks, you'll find your own picnic table and fire pit for your nightly marshmallow and weiner roasts, or old fashion camp fires under the stars, by the sea.  The Sable Bay Cottage  The Schooner Lodge Patio  Another View from the Patio "THE PROPERTY" We hope that while you are our guest, you will thoroughly enjoy not only your accommodations, but the whole of this property. The 10 acre peninsula that we have built on is known as "Long Point"- as far as we can tell, it has carried this name since the first white settlers arrived on the shores of Cape Sable back in the late 1600's. Because we are privately located on the peninsula- you have over 1000' of natural, pristine (undeveloped) shoreline to explore, to roam, and to enjoy. We hope you'll take every advantage to immerse yourself in the area, the Island, and the people. Each of the five cottages are built at the edge of the shoreline (only 25' from the high tide level)... we didn't want the straight-line motel look, so we built along the shoreline as it naturally flowed- this way you enjoy not only a great ocean view, but also privacy and peace of mind. We think you'll be pleased with this approach. Here on "Cape Island", as its known locally, we claim we have the best of both worlds... we have the peace and quiet that comes with the old way of life... no industry, no highways-roads yes! just not the highways, no noise pollution and very little commercialization... yet we are within 10 minutes of Barrington Passage, a little center with all the trappings of small town life... Golf Courses, Museums, MacDonalds, Subway, Tim Hortons Coffee, Arena, Pool, Garages, Major Grocery Store Chains, Retail Stores, Fitness Centers, etc...etc...etc. So while you're at the cottages, you'll enjoy only the peace, quiet, unspoiled Island Beaches, the Ocean, and the nature at its best ... but within 10 minutes you can be golfing, shopping, eatting, visiting museums, etc.  Part of the Barrington Business District- Just before you cross the Causeway to Cape Sable Island.
