Mercury Amateur Radio Association - North East

MINUTES FOR CONNECTICUT MEETINGS - 1998

BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

Opening prayer by Art, W1OND

  1. The constitution of the Mercury Amateur Radio Association - Northeast was reviewed regarding meetings for next year (1999) general meeting. A suggestion was made by Chic, WA2USI, that the meetings be rotated through D.C., NJ and CT.
  2. Art, W1OND, gave a report to the Board regarding the M.A.R.A. Northeast net. He indicated that the members were operating properly through the net station.
  3. Discussion was held regarding nets on different bands and frequencies. Chic, WA2USI, agreed to write an article for the newsletter about these items.
  4. Interested members are to check at 0715 Eastern time each Saturday morning on 7.288 MHz to test propagation on the band at that time of day.
  5. Discussion was held about the newsletter being put on the web site for those with web access. This would cut newsletter costs (production and mailing).
  6. Discussion was held regarding the support (or lack) for emergency communications from the various ecclesiastical authorities.

Adjournment was moved by Chic, WA2USI.

Lunch provided by Jeff, KD1WZ
