This is the Zion United Chuch at Town Point. A History of the County of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia by the Rev. J. R. Campbell, 1876, has this to say: "The first public building designed for the worship of Almighty God in the Township of Yarmouth, was raised at Chebogue. The building was framed, boarded and roofed by subscription, and in this state was used for seven years. At length, in 1773 the outside was finished, and pews and seats erected in the lower part." It hasn't changed much since, It has no electricty or heat. It does have a pump organ. It is presently used for services several times a year and for special events like our wedding. |
