Dan Steeves, a Sackville, NB, printmaker has done a series of abandoned houses and their interiors. Here, in Succour in Abandonment, he has captured the sprit (and much of the reality) of what our house used to be. It is in the same 'carpenter gothic' style and sits on a hill much as our house does. While our house has now lost much of its artistic romatic quality that would make it subject of a drawing, it is much more liveable. However, we do own a Steeves print of this house (this scan from a newspaper doesn't do it justice) that we will have on display in the front hall. |
