we see often.
Shag Harbour is located about 68 kilometrs from Yarmouth Nova Scotia. From Yarmouth take the 103 Highway until you get to the Pubnico , Woods Harbour, and Shag Harbour exit. Turn Right at the exit continue until you get to the Petro Canada Garage, then turn left and continue until you reach Shag Harbour.
Once you arrive at Shag Harbour,
anyone would be glad to help you with any questions you may have.
Ussually at any time of day
during the week in the summer you can see fishing boats unloading at the
local wharf. The lobster
season starts here on the last Monday of November and goes until the last
day of May, and the fishing season last for all year, however, most fish
only from June to November. During the summer most either fish or
harvest
irish moss.
On a fine day you can see 5 lighthouses from the observation tower at Chapel Hill Museum.
If you are hungry and would like something to eat, you can try Bonnie's Takeout, which specilize in seafood.
Other areas that are of interest to vacationers are Peggy's Cove the crash site of Swiss Air Flight 111, The Cabot Trail, Brier Island, Annapolis Valley , Halifax and Dartmouth. Please click on the photos below to enlarge.
The biggest source of income in the area is the Fishing Industry. Below you will find photos and a breif description of the industry.
