we see often.

Shag Harbour is located about 68 kilometrs from Yarmouth Nova Scotia. From Yarmouth take the 103 Highway until you get to the Pubnico , Woods Harbour, and Shag Harbour exit. Turn Right at the exit continue until you get to the Petro Canada Garage, then turn left and continue until you reach Shag Harbour.

Once you arrive at Shag Harbour, anyone would be glad to help you with any questions you may have.
Ussually at any time of day during the week in the summer you can see fishing boats unloading at the local wharf.  The  lobster  season starts here on the last Monday of November and goes until the last day of May, and the fishing season last for all year, however, most fish only from June to November. During the summer most either  fish or harvest irish moss.

On a fine day you can see 5 lighthouses from the observation tower at Chapel Hill Museum.

If you are hungry and would like something to eat, you can try Bonnie's Takeout, which specilize in seafood.

Other areas that are of interest to vacationers  are  Peggy's Cove  the crash site of  Swiss Air Flight 111, The Cabot Trail,  Brier Island, Annapolis Valley , Halifax and Dartmouth.  Please click on the photos below to enlarge.

The biggest source of income in the area is the Fishing Industry. Below you will find photos and a breif description of the industry.
